SORRY ALEX!! Because I'm posting an indie today..
I was flipping through my iTunes playlist of songs I want to blog about, and this one really jumped out at me today. It's a perfect day for Steve Salazar. I can actually say that I've heard him live, and he is amazing!! I've heard him twice at a really cool coffee shop called Beaner's Central. It's even more exciting to listen to him live than it is to listen to his recordings. But, by no means am I saying don't listen to his recordings, because they are pretty k/a, if I do say so myself. Steve is a really cool guy who says stuff like, "Rad" and almost always types a smiley face after what he has to say. I asked him if I could blog about him, and what song, and he said to do "Contradicting Dreams" or something. So "Contradicting Dreams" is exactly what I'm doing.
I love Steve's music. He's more of an acoustic indie, just him and the guitar, for the most part. On recordings, he's added some other stuff in, and he's working on a full length studio album that's actually going to have some full band stuff.
One of my favorite things about Steve is how well his voice melds together with his guitar. And in this song, the lyrics are practically the story of my life in some ways. So, just listen to this and let yourself melt into Steve's easy rhythm and amazing voice in this song. And if you like it, go check him out on facebook!!
