Maybe my titles aren't as interesting as the other bloggers' titles? At least not as attention grabbing...still if I post anything else, I'll add a fun title. Promise. But as of this moment, organization is important for your indie music listening. : )
Today is a perfect day for She&Him. She&Him is an indie band consisting of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. I adore this band. Although they only started recording around 2006, all of their music sounds a lot like an album right out of the 1960's. Their throw-back sound makes them unique in a happy, elated fashion. Nine times out of ten She&Him is upbeat, with the remaining one portion being softer and more melancholy.
The song I've chosen is called "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?". I believe it is one of the better known songs by the duo; a great tune with two music videos to boot. Go check them out after you click on my link; they're kind of cute.
This song's key feature(it's a pun. wait for it..) is that of the piano. Deschanel is truly a great pianist; each note is contributing to the folk-like sound. Towards the end she switches to a'capella, slowly fading away until the instruments start right back up. As a whole, "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?" is a quaint little love song.
She&Him - Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?
