Modern jazz explosion of aweomeness.

Okay, so it's late. And I'm exhausted. Te first 2 days of school do that to you, ya know? Anywho, I want you to go onto grooveshark and look up the song "Hunting Wabbits" by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, off of the album XXL. It's really good, I promise.

But I'm to tired to really write any more right now, so I'll come back and edit this and tell you more abou it tomorrow. But for now, why don't you drop a comment and tell me what you think.

I can't think of a clever title.....

Well, again, I'm really sorry that I'm posting so late.. But I've been a bit busy.. And I'm posting from my iPod instead of a computer, so I'll come back and edit this later.

Anyways.. Today, I'm going to send you off to Grooveshark. And I want you too look up the song "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold.
Okay, so I'm just going to let you know something important that you should know about this song. It cusses. The f-bomb is dropped a few times. So, if you have issues with that, I'm sure that you can find a clean version instead.

Anyways, this song is, by all means, one of my favorite songs. I love the gentle, music box like intro, then the explosion of the same melody in a metal way. I also really like the lyrics of this song. "And I know you hear their voices, Calling from above, And I know they may seem real, These signals of love, But our life's made up of choices, Some without appeal, They took for granted your soul, And it's ours now to steal, As your nightmare comes to life." <----- That is my favorite part in the song. It really is. =)
Anywho, I hope you enjoy this little number by A7x.

And You Already Know

How this will end.
(by DeVotchKa)

Today I was flicking through my songs and once again rediscovered DeVotchKa. I absolutely adore DeVotchKa...they're so different from any other band I've listened to. If you internet stalk them, like I do, you'd know that their name means "girl" in Russian. I mean..how subtly cryptic is that? (well, not really, but I think it is an absolutely perfect name for a band) They use a few uncommon instruments in a lot of their songs, such as the theremin, bouzouki, and accordion. I love it, and I think you will too.

The music is a little hard to get used to from the get go, but it will grow on you. They definitely have a unique sound that is easily liked after a few listens. Sort of like an acquired taste. The song I chose and have linked is called "How It Ends". I'm pretty sure (but not positive) it was featured in the film "Little Miss Sunshine"? They wrote the soundtrack for it, anyway.

"How It Ends" is in some ways, a sad song. One that will make you think and keep hitting that repeat button on your iPod. It starts out slowly, leading into the music until the melody sets in motion. While the singing is decent, I think that it is the instruments make this song one to remember. Have a listen (:

Ahh... Football...

Okay, so I'm like super duper sorry!!
I was supposed to post yesterday, but I've been super busy..
OOPS!!

Well, I'm going to give you something really cool, that fits for this time of year, since yesterday was the opening football game for my school.
So, I'm giving you the song "The Boys Of Fall" by Kenny Chesney. Yeah, another Kenny Chesney song. I love his music. =)
Well, so I'm not technically going to give it to you, because I don't have this song, you have to look it up on Grooveshark.

This song is about being on the high school football team, and it just sounds like fall. If that really makes any sense, but it sounds like fall to me. Chesney sings about playing high school football, and how the players are pretty much the heroes of the school, at least for the season. I just love the sound and the feel of this song.
=D
Enjoy!

It's Electric? !

There's really nothing about MGMT I don't like.
Except their music videos.
Because THOSE are scary...but I guess you gotta hand it to them. They are avante garde enough!

This song by the band is called "Electric Feel" and it is nothing short of awesome. Awesome enough to have 19 million + views on Youtube, which you can view here. Beware though..it is um different. (;

In any case, I love this song in its entirety because it has the feel of a party. I won't lie to you, it is electric. The band in general is hilarious and upbeat. "Electric Feel" is just a fun song to dance to; I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to September

Well howdy there!
Today is the first day of September. And so, I'm gonna do a song that seems to be appropriate.
'Wake Me Up When September Ends' by Green Day.
Now, unfortunately, I don't actually have this song, so you're going to have to go look it up on Grooveshark. It's pretty easy to find on there though, I promise.

Now, I'm not huge on "pop" music, but I do like this song.
I really like how in the beginning it kind of sounds like finger-picking on an acoustic guitar. Then a little later, it switches to electric and adds legit drums. Yeah, that's cool.
I also like the lyrics of this song. And they're so fitting for today, at least I think so. It's kinda about going back to school, but not exactly. I don't really know.. But i do like it! Enjoy!!
